The reality is that those promos already existed back when that promo existed. The WWE truck monkeys have to make a promo for every event worth even the smallest shit and most of the times they just half-ass them because they don't have the time to make masterpieces out of everything. They are the default promo you give for an event that happened in the past week. It's only stuff that uses multiple shows build that gets this kind of quality, like OP and the post you quoted.

HHH humiliates himself through the whole promo, which is what makes it good. It makes Steiner believable.

While the matches weren't great, at least Steiner did a good job in being a legitimate threat for HHH to create Evolution, which worked really well as a stable. That alone makes the feud worthwhile.

You look at Orton in the video, he was green and faggy, not the credible contender he's now.
And Batista's 2004-5 turn was one of the best booked ever. Even stupid Meltzer praised it.

In the long term that shitty matches didn't have any negative impact, while the feud itself had a really positive one.

All they needed to do was have the match go a bit longer. One or two good spots worthy of being a wrestlemania match and, finally, have Dean lose in a similar way to Austin at 13.

It would have made both guys look strong, it would have made perfect sense within the story the feud was telling, that Ambrose would keep getting knocked down but he'd never stop trying.

Don't know what the fuck they were thinking with what was essentially a squash match that did nothing for either guy.

They're thinking they need a super over babyface to advertise all over in order to sell PPVs and the Network and such. And they aren't wrong in this respect. AND with celebrity appearances and big returns and shit, you generally want them to be babyface so that the crowd, particularly the casuals and such you're likely trying to draw in with such a move, will be happy and enthusiastic about seeing them.
