You're getting some things wrong there bud. nWo was copied from a B-tier jap promotion but was huge in the States and the use of former major stars from the competition and turning the then ultimate babyface into a heel added to its major impact.

It also didn't last for three months, which was one of its major issues. nWo was never ending and they always seemed to come out on top or reform when it finally looked like it was done and over with. They had a moneymaker and let it overstay its welcome and ran it straight into the ground.
