The problem is not wrestling threads, the problem is low quality threads. Filter out the stuff you're not interested in, pin the things you are interested in, and the board will be more use to you.

Filters do nothing, the garbage is too much and too varied.
You can find threads with filters but those who don't will stop finding them and stop using them, also no newcomer will ever find a thread simply because they'll never even know it exists, and non-generals which are the only entertaining part of a board will never have people posting in them

The garbage isn't that varied because shitposters are literally autistic and engage in repetitive behaviour. (e.g. "is he a draw" and "mean by this" continue to be spammed.) The only reason the filter project can't succeed is that shitposts are (apparently) on-topic and filter threads are not.
