That would put a sense of ego in yoga, which is contradictory for what it's for. Anatman is the doctrine of not-self and the idea of putting your skills up against someone else to win a competition is self-driven.

Quite possible you could supplement the flexibility, joint strength, and breathing exercises of yoga into a regular martial arts regimen, but using techniques in yoga itself to defend oneself or involve oneself in sport fighting would be futile, as yoga is a meditation practice, not a combat practice.

Its a supplement to martial arts, a good one. This is especially true for real traditional yoga as opposed to the stuff they sell to soccer moms
