On Tuesday’s Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer confirmed that there are plans for a women’s title to be created for the Smackdown brand. I guess that means that they’ve changed course on what they originally had planned because a few weeks ago there was talk of having the women’s champion wrestle on both brands.
Also, there are plans to create a new tag team title for the Smackdown brand. There is no word on what they will call these new titles. It makes sense to create a women’s title and tag team title especially since they will start doing brand-specific pay-per-views in September.
