>Fires Steve Austin from WCW because he did not see Austin as a marketable wrestler.
>Austin goes to WWF and becomes the biggest star of all time
>WCW falls behind WWF in the ratings because of Austins success and eventually go out of business

What did Eric Aaron Bischoff mean by this?
>>
Talk about getting owned
>>
Every company has this fuck-ups (on a smaller scale but still).

WWE had "Derrick Bateman" and they fucked him completly while TNA turned him into EC III and i am still to this day fucking salty ECIII isnt in the WWE.
>>
>>1531338
are you seriously comparing Derrick Bateman to Steve Austin

WTF
>>
>>1531341
To be honest ECIII is more talented :^)
>>
If Eric didn't fIre Austin, he may not have been what he became.

Hindsight is 20/20. Austin even said him getting fired gave him the spark to become Stone Cold and that elevated him to become what we all loved.

If he stayed in WCW as Stunning Steve, he may never have become the legend be is now. So if anything, him getting fired was the best thing to happen to him and why Steve has even thanked Eric recently in interviews.

As for ratings...WCW was still winning despite Austin and could have kept winning if they didn't just implode because of the backstage politics of the NWO hierarchy and the mishandling of Goldberg's push. They also could have treated the Cruiserweights better, but that falls into the NWO thing again where they ate up most of the money and screen time.
>>
>>1531343
Ye but if he did not fire him WWF would of not had stone cold, it was Austin vs Vince which broke nitros winning streak
>>
Austin was the original vanilla midget before the Stone Cold gimmick saved his career
>>
>>1531350
18+ he was always huge and the hollywood blondes was GOAT.
>>
>>1531350
>vanilla midget
>>
>>1531342

The only smart things wcw did was turn hogan heel and Form the NWO

>lose Hogan, Nash, Hall, Savage plus many more to WCW
>get so rekt in the ratings he can't afford to pay his top stars what they agreed

>buy WCW and ECW for peanuts
>pick up literally 0% of their fanbases

What did he mean by this?
>>
>>1532446

derrick bateman never dew a dime, how was that a mistake for wwe
>>
>>1532446
All the trashy WCW fans went to TNA
>>
>>1531338
Who the FUCK is ECIII
>>
>>1531338
>EC III

Literally and figuratively who?
>>
>>1532489
AOL killed WCW or him. They would still be in business now if Ted Turner hadn't lost his power
>>
>>1532546
if WCW was not losing insane amounts they may still be around
>>
>>1532557
No they wouldn't because AOL wanted wrestling off their network. Nitro was getting 2.2 ratings and the next closest show was 0.8 but they still cancelled it
>>
>>1532516
>stunning steve never drew a dime, how was that a mistake for wcw
Guess how many people were saying that before he was SCSA? The point is Derrick Bateman is talented and could've been something big you braindead mong
>>
To be fair, Austin wasn't profitable, and the stone cold gimmick only came by accident
>>
>>1532603
they made losses of about 80 mill in its final year, it does not matter what ratings it drew
>>
>>1532664
Literally everyone knows it died because the network wanted nothing to do with wrestling anymore
>>
>>1532646
>The point is Derrick Bateman is talented

Hello Derricko
>>
>>1532784
Cannot know for certain, you think they would cancel 1997 WCW? I doubt it
>>
>>1532508
All those were buried by NWO
