So, what's his genuine appeal?

I don't care about looks/height, so I won't go into that. But just as a talent, I find him dull. Fun in-ring, but not enough to off-set how obnoxiously bland he is elsewhere. There are so many developed so much more. Why am I supposed to buy this guy as an immediate Main Eventer?
Is it just his entrances? Or are smarks drawn by his past? Because as much as I respect and enjoyed his pervious accomplishments/work, if he's not captivating in the WWE, I don't want him to get a giga-push there.
Also, pic not hating on him, just the only thing I had relating to him.

He can talk, watch some of his heel stuff during the early days of Bullet Club in NJPW. He has just been groomed into being this bland babyface in NXT.
I like him because he is great in the ring and managed to get a good match out of Elias Samson
