"Bryan Danielson" sounds like a mouthful. "Daniel Bryan" just rolls off the tongue by comparison. Say what you want, but it makes sense from a marketing standpoint.

It's only appropriate when talking about their old characters or matches they were billed in. It makes no sense to talk about Same Zayn in Ring of Honor since that character didn't exist in ROH. If you're talking about the wrestler and his career and not the character or a particular match (e.g. El Geberico vs Kevin Steen), use their current name.
