The product is not for kids lad, it airs at fucking late night

It is... kinda.
You see, the idea of wrestling being family friendly is strange. While the UFC isn't explicitly sexual, and neither is boxing, the idea of combat being somewhere suitable in a family setting is just weird. Imagine watching a bloody UFC fight in the waiting room of a children's hospital. It wouldn't be socially appropriate, even if they censor every bit of it. Same thing goes for WWE, no matter how PG they say it is, it would be strange to see a wrestling match in a "family friendly" setting, because violence, no matter what pretty bow you put on it, isn't inherently "family friendly".
The show is marketed towards families, though this is codeword for "kids can watch it too", even though even the most conservative parents I knew growing up let their kids watch Attitude Era and Ruthless Aggression WWF. The writing is simplistic so kids can follow it, but it's also just a problem that would realistically come up when you have to write a TV show every week and smarks will criticize even the smallest bit on inconsistency. Doesn't it make sense for it to air late at night? It's the last thing the kids watch, and tomorrow at school its the first thing in their heads to talk about with their friends. Also it being it night allows it to be live and for them to actually fill the stadiums. The majority of people work during the day, so they can usually go to the show in the afternoon.
