Beginner climber here. A new route got put up in my gym that I can get up pretty easily, but there's an overhang with a couple of moves where I'm hanging horizontally. As it turns out, I'm much weaker horizontally than I am vertically. What kind of technique should I be employing in these kinds of situations?

My current project is a 5.13a. I can do it in 2 parts so I'm working on linking it up right now...I think i'll have it soon.

A lot of people don't keep their feet on when things get overhung/horizontal. Keep your core tight with your feet up and let your arms hang straight. you should start doing pullups after climbing if you aren't able to bust out 10 pretty easily tho

I had my feet on the holds while I was horizontal and I can bust out 15 pullups without a warmup. I don't think I was keeping my arms straight, though. I'll keep that in mind when I climb it again.

I can't stop injuring myself while climbing. I got tendonitis in one of my arms and climbed with that arm behind my back for a week and ended up getting tendonitis in the other one as well.
