I agree with the Anti-Smark hypocrisy, but Batista said it best, Unions in Wrestling, especially WWE wouldn't work. The wrestlers are too easily expendable. If a bunch of guys start a union, which most likely would be the lower card guys who are getting shat on, Vince could simply replace them. There are 1000's of Wrestlers that want a spot in the WWE and Vince could rebuild his entire undercard if he really needed to.

bryan got a run with the world title, got in a great tag team with hell no before he got over with his chant and got pushed to the top.

I don't think hes correct in his assertion that all talent are equal in the roster in terms of getting people into the building..imagine there were only sheamuses and del rios in the company. You'd be wrestling in front of 90000 empty chairs at wrestlemania.

I do think there is a case to be made for not all talent receiving the same opportunities though, be it through nepotism, lazy/incompetent writing, overly scripted promos, banning of certain iconic moves in their repertoire.. WWE has certainly cut the legs out from under its own stars for seemingly no logical reason - Jimmy Snuka is in the hall of fame and murdered his girlfriend, yet Sandow cant get 5 minutes or air time in a 3 hour show? Talk about leaving money on the table.

Anyway.. Ryback has slipped out of the main event down to pre shows so obviously his bonus money is reducing too. They do get a fixed salary over a year tho and the merch sales allow them to renegotiate mid contract if they are exceptionally selling well (ambrose got bumped up to rollins level money a few months ago iirc)

I dont think it's expendability as much as it is pure selfish interest on behalf of each upper tier wrestler - Top tier guys wouldnt want a union as it would mean less favourable terms for them in the long run (smaller slice of the salary pie, less face time per week, less types of merch items)
