But the storyline here has been this: Becky wants the title. Charlotte has it, but her dad keeps interjecting himself for months and screwing over Becky. Charlotte will keep the title for a while.

The real reason why girl's wrestling never got a real push was that the male wrestlers, especially the mid card guys, would have revolted. Imagine risking your healthy every day, and being asked to give up screen time to girls that are worse in every aspect. Then comes Charlotte FLAIR. No male wrestler, no matter how much they hate being pushed down for girl's flippy shit, would dare say a negative word about RIC FLAIR'S kid. Ric Flair is a mere valet in the women's matches and he legitimately loves it. There is no way any male wrestler would make fun of that. As long as Stephanie is pushing this and Ric Flair's child is the champion, they can push the girl's division without any bitching from male wrestlers. This is also why a Hart is being pushed as the #1 contender.

A female match will headline a major PPV. The only way for this to happen and no male wrestler saying shit about it would if it were a Flair against a Hart. They will not hot potato this title, they will make a girl's tag team belt for that.

Also, Becky is best girl.

You might have a point. Charlotte is no doubt going to be a huge part of the division for a long time. It's no coincidence that Paige talked about a women's championship for ages, it never happened, then Charlotte came up and started speaking about it too and suddenly we have it just a few months later. Ric (and by extension her) probably has tremendous influence with Haitch who is a big Flair mark.

I don't really have a problem with it. She's very talented and looks like a legitimate champion who could bring a lot of credibility to the division. Unlike somebody like Nikki Bella or Stephanie I think she really does want the best for the women as a whole and will use her influence positively, not just as a way to feed her ego.

Charlotte was having notable matches on NXT in 2014. If it was just because she was Ric's daughter that women's wrestling got a push, the divas revolution would have really started 2 years ago when it comes to the main roster.

However, you're right that the women's division has NO babyfaces besides her right now. Paige, Nikki, Sasha, Charles, and Summer Rae are all some form of heel, and are all best at being heel. Even after Bayley comes up, that makes two faces who can actually sort of wrestle.

I guess you also have Natalya, but the retards running the show will NEVER use her correctly (or much at all), so you've got exactly two faces. After Bayley comes up, Bayley should be the 100% Babyface, and Becky should be a bit more anti-hero type of face. Generally a upstanding person, but more focused on winning than being Bayley's friend or anything.

You also have Bliss theoretically coming up eventually, and while she's an excellent heel character, if they introduced her as a face it could work for a long while. She'd probably be nothing more than a "Make the 4Horsefaces Look Good" role for a while, but that's sort of necessary. Her and Summer are perfect for that, with Summer being a heel to make the faces look good.

This Becky/Emma feud kinda presents a problem. Who goes over? On one hand, Emma bombed so hard she got sent back to NXT and this is her first real feud on the MR. The division is also lacking in credible people outside of the horsies. I don't want them to steamroll everybody for the next 5 years. Emma could be built up because she's just as good as any of the big 4.

On the other, Becky has never won a singles match on PPV her entire WWE/NXT tenure, her record is like 0-4. She's in need of some wins to stop her going full jobber.

It should really be Sasha putting Emma over desu. There is absolutely no need for her to be going on 1+ year undefeated streak. She's not built, or tall, or particularly imposing in any way. Why is she being booked as a monster that even the champ can't beat?
