We're not really a jack-of-all-trade at all. Obviously, we have the most intelligence (by quite some margin), and we're also quite good endurance runners where most large mammals are focused on short sprints. We also have very good color vision.
Similarly, opposable thumbs are basically the tightest shit ever.

It's a well know fact that MELANIN is and always will be a gateway material used to access the vast secrets and energies of the cosmos. Only those who posses the inherit MELANIN traits are able to do this. Chimps could, under the right conditions itd probably take upwards of 5 million years. Other great apes too, but a lot of those have gone back to being primarily herbivores and will probably just get dumber. Dolphins and killer whales are probably about as smart as they'll get just because they're so far from developing the capacity to use tools.

Octopuses are a big maybe. They're very clever and one could see them evolving in the direction of tool use and greater intelligence under proper conditions. They have a lot of roadblocks in the way of intelligence evolution though, as they lay large clutches of eggs, don't care for their young, are not particularly social, and have very short lives.
