>parents plan on adopting a dog
>already have 4 cats
>house is small as fuck

be prepared for your parents to completely neglect the dog and refuse to ever take proper care of it.
good luck. my family did this same shit except with 3 dogs. get out as soon as you can.
Your house must smell like shit.
Tell your parents they need therapy. save burgerbux until you can afford to move out- anywhere at any time.

Make your best effort to train it. It will probably work out. If not, it will be returned.

Dogs take 10x amount of work than cats.
You have to walk them everyday to pee and poop.
You can't leave home longer than 8 hours (much less for a puppy), because you have to let them out to pee. So your whole life is planned around your dog.
And if you want them to be well adjusted, you have to take them on walks at least every other day.
They want to play every second of the day, and hate you if you don't play fetch.
You need to buy them bones for thier teeth and toys to get them out of your hair for 15 minutes so you can enjoy things you used to, like a TV show in peace.
Training is a lot more work than it seems and a puppy WILL wreak some object you liked before you train it not to. It will take years to train a dog not to attack or bark at people on the street, and to walk on a leash. Dog owners collectively forget how long this takes. If you don't get the dog used to people it will be maladjusted for life.
your dog will get fleas, so apply the medicine every month unless you want itchy legs. Most dogs will shed all the time, whither or not you brush them.
You have to trim thier nails on the regular or pay for it to be done.
Dogs don't clean themselves like cats and need to be washed, expect to ruin several towels for this, and yet another thing you need to buy (shampoo). Also remember after you wash them your dog will go roll around in the mud to cover his seant, so expect this.
Dogs will bark at nothing, usually about the time you are trying to relax.

so much misinformation. you must be a cat owner

Point out one thing I said wrong
>>2471012
>they want to play constantly
a properly stimulated dog will have an off switch
>they need toys/bones to let you have a moment of peace
again, if a dog is properly exercised they will be content to relax with you
>takes years to train a dog
basic things like not attacking and how to walk on leash can be taught in a few months at most
>you have to trim their nails regularly
if you walk your dog as you should, they will naturally be filed down from the sidewalk
>dogs bark at nothing
can easily be fixed with training. and even if they are barking it's probably because they heard or saw something
