It's wrong to think about it that way. Animals don't evolve to fill a role in an ecosystem.

They kill other pests and consume decaying matter, both of which help out the farmers. Mosquitos don't do shit which makes them worse

Wasps are major predators of insects, scavenge dead shit, pollinate flowers, become food themselves for some things. Most of all though they control arthropod populations extremely well to the point of decimating some when introduced into non native habitats
