Will rehoming a kitten give him abandonment issues?
I recently took in a 6 or 7 week old kitten off the street to give him a home. Unfortunately, I don't feel overly attached to him, and my other cat despises him. The two were not properly introduced, thanks to my pigheaded mother. My mom doesn't really want him either.
Would rehoming him be bad for him psychologically? I've heard that dogs that get "passed around" appear to development a fear of abandonment. I'd hate for the kitten to get something similar.

It's possible, but most likely no. Animals that young typically bounce back well, and it's better for him to be rehomed than in a place that doesn't want him.

I'm sure the kitten will be fine, he's young and hasn't been with you long. He'll probably be happier in the long run.

It's just a shitty cat. They're pretty much background furniture and incapable of too much emotion anyway.
