First time reptile owner, can anyone give me advice on my golden

Sit next to tank and rest your hand inside away from gecko. Do this every other day for about 15 minutes. Try hand feeding but don't be pushy about. Gecko will eventually wander over and investigate your hand. Don't move. Don't grab. They can get fairly comfortable being around you but they never get comfy with being picked up. They will, sometimes, decide they enjoy climbing on you.

Look up youtube videos on correct way to hold lizards. It's mainly moving your hands so they walk across them and never grabbing them (geckos can get scared and drop their tails if you do that).
