Any help identifying these (snake?) eggs? I was planting tomatoes in my garden and found about 7 of them while digging. They were between 3-8 inches deep in the dirt and had a rough bumpy texture but were soft and you could press them slightly with your finger. I live in very northern California and the closest idea I could have is possibly a Black Racer, but as far as I know California isn't in their habitat range.

It's snakes. There's not much you can do to I'd them. Sit on them until they hatch and stop poking them.

I think you should put them back if you don't mind them being there, leaving them out of the dirt can kill them.

I re buried them at the same depth they were at when I found them. I'm just curious into what type of snake they'll hatch into.

Oh okok. I'm not familiar with American snakes. I'd help you out if I could, sorry.
