>watching a nature documentary
>panning shot of a canyon or mountain range
>they play that one default eagle sound effect, you know the one
Why do they always do this?
Also, nature documentary gripe thread
>>2410018
Stop watching 'murrican "documentaries"
>>2410027
>It's an American documentary with a narration taken from a wresting match episode
Why amerifats?
>>2410018
Hi fun fact:
Eagles sound like pussies in real life, so the sound of a redtailed hawk is overdubbed.
The sound of America is a hawk
>>2410079
It's the same as the MGM lion's roar actually being a tiger's
>it's a "cheesy roaring and growling dubbed over insect fight" episode
>>2410018
"Yo people don't actually care about animal drama, just splice together scenes of animals running and pretend they're fighting/hunting."
"Oh. Also don't show an animal killing another animal EVER."
Kinda OT but does anyone else notice the same fucking cat stock effect in every movie / TV show with a cat that's upset? It's the feline equivalent to a Wilhelm scream.
>>2410146
I agree with what you said about Hitchcock
>>2410089
So you've never watched any of Attenborough's Life on Earth stuff? He shows nature red in tooth and claw. And, much to my girlfriend's disapproval, he shows them having sex as well.
oh nice, planet earth deep sea creature episode
>fucking weird buzzing/electrical noises and alien bloops for 45 minutes
>>2410160
>that one cat scream that implies some mayhem is going on offscreen because of something the main character did
More relevant to the thread,
>documentary focuses on crocodile/shark/similar animals
>lion roaring in the background
>>2410178
>And, much to my girlfriend's disapproval
She sounds like a stuck up pussy who shouldn't be watching those kinds of shows if she doesn't already expect that animals have sex, for fucks sake.
>elephant mouse roaring like a lion
What the fuck natgeo?
>>2410078
I dont know anon I hate it as a burger to.
I think its meant to try and draw in people who dont give a fuck about nature but they dont care anyway so it just turns off people with all the corny karate chop noises jump cuts and THIS ANIMAL IS ONE BAD MOTHER F-R YOU WOULDNT WANT TO MEET HIM IN A DARK ALLEY
>>2410178
Attenborough is fucking based
>>2410018
I hate all the fake sound effects they add especially when its for water or digging
>>2410178
Fuck if she ever let you near her cooch it must be like pounding a fucking crusty old névé snowman
>any "reality" or fictional tv show about a farm
>always those loud as fuck stock chicken/cow/horse sound effects
There was one nature show in the 00s, fucking awful it was shot and edited like a music video and had shit electronic music

Reminder to only watch superior British documentaries
>Replacing Attenboroughs narration with Oprah when it aired in America
Why must you do these things, America?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cG2ZV9kv9II
Easily the worst part of Planet Earth 2. It sounds like a fucking Looney Tunes cartoon.

This bear sound.
Every fucking time for every fucking bear living on this fucking planet !
>>2410440
believe it or not lots of american idiots cant understand whats being said with even the poshest of english accents
>>2410440
gotta replace every voice with a stronk token nigger female for dem diversity points
>>2410440
It was most likely an attempt to appeal to African Americans and the sorts of women more likely to watch talk shows than nature documentaries.
I still can't forgive it, but I do understand.
>>2410162
I see you found the public domain stock sound effects track. Jewish producers and other cheapos use the same stock footage for sound effects over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over because it's free.
>>2410018
That sound effect is specifically a red-tailed hawk. Eagles mostly peep and cluck like chickens. If you've ever watched eagle nest cams it's hilarious. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=33DWqRyAAUw
>>2410088
>monster bug wars
>>2410461
sounds like a fat old guy ejaculating
>>2410440
She probably wanted to do it more than the networks did.
>>2410018
>watching a documentary
>hear Morgan Freeman's voice
>>2410018
>sunset over water
>two dolphins jump out
>>2410463
To be fair, we would probably add sounds of tea pouring in the background if we could understand it.
>watching a nature documentary
>egregious foley effects of any kind
>>2410430
Ever been on a farm? I can't even talk around my chickens without yelling.
>>2413856
The main problem I have with his insects stuff is that most of it is filmed in a studio.

This one OP
I remember seeing a BBC documentary on kea parrots. There was a scene they used in that documentary that I first saw on Arkive.org of keas digging up and killing shearwater chicks. They actually removed the sounds of the shearwater chicks getting killed in the BBC documentary and dubbed in a different, softer call for them. American nature documentaries can be dumb but British documentaries tend to be pussified.

now, if you have a cat on your lap make sure you get him off or turn down your radio. this DOES make cats freak out, you've been warned.
>MRREEEOOWW

Ah yes.
The red tailed hawk scream.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=33DWqRyAAUw
Every bird of prey's sound. Rumor has it you can here a muffled version of it, whenever a bald eagle farts.
