Whenever the cat looks like she wa ra to kill them, just spritz its hair with vinegar. The cat will *have* to clean itself, but it will be a very bad-tasting experience. It won't take long for negative association to kick in.

I have heard of particularly large and mean cats killing chickens so I wouldn't say that it attacking them is an impossibility especially seeing as though you have bantams but it would be unlikely. I'd still keep them under close supervision the first few of times they come into contact just in case.

If you're wanting them to be completely free range then foxes will be a much bigger threat.

From everything I've seen, as long as there's at least 3-4 adult chickens in the group cats will learn real quick not to fuck with them

Seriously, love all of them. Fluffyfats. My kind of animals. But not a good idea to keep them together. Cats deal with pests but they are not like dogs that tend to protect.
