Hey /an/, I just fished a baby (juvenile?) rabbit out of a storm drain about an hour ago. After getting him warmed up and in a shoebox with a towel I'm unsure of what to do next, especially in terms of food.
What do

Find a wildlife rehab center near you, that's by far his best chance of making it.

This, but also I don't think that's a rabbit. Rabbits are born naked and blind. That's probably a hare, in which case they're supposed to be out and about at a young age.
Take it to a rehab center anyway.
Also put air holes in the box.

stop this shitty meme. 100% of rabbits that have breathed oxygen end up dead

Hares aren't the same thing as rabbits?
>>2376687
Nope! Hares have never been domesticated for starters, so no one has one as a pet.
Rabbits live in burrows, hares do not. Rabbits are social, hares for the most part are not. Hares are larger, faster and generally more awkward-looking than rabbits. One can't always tell them apart just by looking at them, but your best bet for identifying a hare would be the presence of abnormally long legs and ears, and oddly protuberant eyes.
You might be dealing with a young but not too young rabbit, but it's hard to tell. If it is a hare, the newborns are called leverets.

Cheers. Called a few and got a facebook post up in a rescue group, I'll try a few more numbers in the morning. He's a pretty big guy too, about 96 grams on my scale so I'm hoping he should be able to eat foods that aren't momma milk. Maybe 2-3 weeks old?

Central CT. here's a better picture if anyone's curious. Also just got in touch with a rehab person.

Yup, looks like a bunny to me.
While they're still in your care, make sure nothing is around for them to chew. They'll destroy wires and such.

Good job, OP!

Thanks! Successfully delivered bun bun to the nice lady this morning.

You'll reap good karma for that. Good job, man. Made my day to read this.
>OP isn't an idiot who puts it in a hamster cage, feeds it carrots and refuses to take it to a rehabber
This is a nice change.
