My kot really wants to go outside, but I'm afraid he'll run off and get lost, or hit by a car or something. Wat do?
He's snuck out a couple times before. He's never left the backyard, but it's really hard to get him to come back in.

don't let him outside and he'll get over ti one day. just open up a window and he will most likely be content just to sit on the window sill and get fresh air. that's what happened with my cat. he used to constantly beg and sneak outside, but he doesn't care anymore

Cat-proof your backyard fence.

Kots are for fags
Doggo for life

He's already had a taste of the outdoors so you can never do anything to make up for that. Don't listen to the shut ins here.

Sure there is. Despite what people say, cats actually do have the ability to learn and remember. You acknowledge that they remember being outside, why can't you acknowledge that they remember not being allowed outside?

Either cat proof the fuck out of your yard so he doesn't fuck shit up or get him back in asap
>>2376524
either catproof your yard or if that's not possible, keep him in and quit getting duped by a fucking cat letting him out
t. had maybe 15 outdoors cats over the course of growing up and the majority of them died prematurely via car despite only being 200ft from a quiet road

so... kill it, and start over with a new kitty?

My cat lived outside pretty much exclusively for 3 years. Now he's terrified of going outside.

I was pretty nervous the first couple times I let my cat out, but now I don't care, since she spends most of her waking time outside and always comes back.
I don't know what it's like letting an adult indoor cat get used to going outside, as mine was 8 months when I got her and I let her out within weeks. She was already kinda "street smart", having been rescued from a lady with over 50 cats, but I don't know whether she'd ever been outside before.
I even have a window I leave open from April-October for her to come and go as she pleases. I also close off her litter box during these months and she uses the outdoors exclusively.

>outdoor cat
this has to be bait
you could try to teach your cat to accept a harness, that way you can go on "walks" with him.

so now you can have not just kitty piss paws on the counters,
but the all the neighborhood literal barf and shit. Good work keeping your immune system up to date.

bad for your cat, bad for the ecosystem.
