Is there a theoretical model for a species to fill all possible niches in its environment
my initial thought are it would have to be inherently cannibalistic, have a high reproductive rate, and a high tendency to be territorial

Marsupials you dumbshit. They permeated every niche, including flying fucking marsupial squirrels, and marsupial tigers.

Humans.

No. For one thing, you're asking a species to be multicellular and unicellular at the same time.

Marsupials are not a single species.

They were. At some point very close relatives must have been predator and prey when they started to diverge.

They were never photosynthetic though. What are they going to live on? Once we introduce plants or microorganisms for it to eat and digest its food with, there is more than one species in that environment which is against the original premise.
