Kittens are prone to eye infections. Check the white eyelid underneath the outer one -- if it's pink and swollen-looking it might be infected. Also check for excessive discharge. Just tears is probably fine, but if the discharge looks gummy and especially if it's colored that's a sign of trouble.

There also may be something stuck in its eye, though I've never had that happen in one of my cats so I'm not sure what to look for there.

Your best best is to gently wash the cats eye with some salt water till you can take her to a vet. If she has eye gunk and it starts to go crusty round the tear ducts the infection can get worse.
