Hey /an/. My old dog died a few months ago and I feel like I'm finally read to get a new one. Do you guys have any recommendations for dogs? I'd be looking for something with a shorter coat that doesn't shed as much, and a dog with a more quiet, friendly disposition. Something small to medium size, I could maybe consider a larger dog. A longer lifespan would be good too. If its a dog that requires a lot of attention, I'm down for that as I work from home, and exercise isn't a problem - I have a huge back yard. I live in south Georgia, so it does get quite hot and humid here during the spring and summer. I'd super appreciate any recommendations, thanks!

yorkies don't shed, and while most are yappy - I've come across quite a few that are incredibly quiet - these are usually the ones that still have some of their vermin exterminating instincts.
It sounds like any dog would be good for you op
Why don't you go to a local shelter and look around and see if there's a doggo that stands out to you.

They're the best, really, and only bark when they hear shit. You have to tell them to shut up tons but most of the time they're fine.
Year 1 is literal torture, but after that they get their wits about them. You can teach them tricks at an extremely young age too.

I may do that. I do plan on getting a puppy though, want to maximize my time with my new pal.
