Governments have a lot of power, they could easily crack down on these corporations who are destroying the biodiversity and ecosystems of this planet

It would be pretty great, but I don't know how the necessary human population control could be implemented in a "fair", non eugenicsy manner.

A lot of illegal foresters/poachers/ect are impoverished and do it to support themselves/their families. I know there are some programs to train and hire such people as park rangers to protect the local environment, but I don't know about the viability of doing that on a larger scale.

None of New Zealand waters are protected, so our former right wing Prime Minister tried to make a marine reserve in Kermadec, which contains the 2nd deepest trench in the world
Every party except for greens blocked the reserve from being made
If we were like America, our former Prime Minister could have made the marine reserve anyway
but we are commenwealth cucks so no, my country has no protected waters, therefore fishermen are overfishing NZ waters with nothing stopping them

According to some scientists we would need only 10% of the sea protected as marine reserves to efectively ensure the welfare of the species, amongst those fishes that are in a bad situation due to overfishing, thus being a benefit to the economy.

We are way far from that number nowadays, and the natural reserves everywhere have troubles defending their interests and species.So protecting 50% of the whole planet is just batshit crazy unless some major disaster occured.

I think the best we can do is have individual countries set aside chunks of their natural land for preservation. Nature reserves basically.

Parts of the ocean far away from any country at all can be globally declared to own itself and be illegal to fuck with, and countries can set aside oceanic reserves from part of their waters.

The problem is few countries will be willing to do this. Imperial conquest for glory and ecological preservation is necessary. Fucking Asians.
