What are /an/s favourite people-orientated dogs? I've only ever owned sighthounds and while they do show affection, they've all been fairly independent dogs.
golden retrievers luv people
Seriously, in my experience, it's pretty rare to come across a golden that isn't into people. I have known a couple that get aggressive towards other big dogs, but that's always a risk with a dog, innit

Hear me out but pitbulls. They only attack people when they've not had enough funding for them programs.

labrador retrievers
Golden Retrievers are super into people.
Labs have a similar personality to goldens, they're just more hyper.

Nah, a lot of toy dogs aren't that into people.
Even when raised properly, small terriers are pretty independent and are usually more interested in eliminating vermin than they are affection from someone other than their owners.
What about dogs that are super people-oriented, but specifically just with their handler/familiar people (aren't interested in strangers?)

it depends. some toy dogs like maltese and cavalier were bred solely to be a best friend.

Can confirm.
My lab mix BOLTS when people open the door, barking and whining for their attention.
He has a deep bark though, so it intimidates people, and they think he will attack them. He's sweet as hell though

In my experience, I had a rat terrier who hated strangers but would learn who my friends were and recognize them even after a very long time. She liked to cuddle often, and visit with familiar people. Lots of yapping at strangers, but she'd stop when told. Stock image related

Dobermans are super clingy to their owners

this is why the kennel club is stupid
small terriers should be considered terriers, not toys
proper toys are people pleasers to the core
