So today's the big day guys, I'm returning from a year long trip to see my old cat moose, I am worried she won't remember me however, does anybody else here have experiences with being reunited with there pets are a long period of time?

Actual loving pets, yes. Stupid cats that don't care about you anyway, no. Post results please.

I left for a year and came back and my dog didn't recognize me. Just barks at me like a stranger. Though when my mom calls me and she says my name he reacts. So I don't know what the fuck is going on. Dogs are just stupid.

We were very close. Raised him from a puppy. Went everywhere with me and followed by my side when i took him into the woods. Slept in my bed every night and ignored everyone else when I was around.
Left for 10 months. Came back and my dog went absolutely bonkers. Got home at 4am and woke him up from a sound sleep and couldn't get him to chill out so I could go to bed for over an hour. And he's not a hyper or high-strung dog at all. It was an awesome feeling tbqh

Dog recognition is based heavily on scent rather than vision. Maybe you came back smelling like, cigarettes, weed, or your boyfriend's dick.
The longest I was ever away from my old cat was about a month but she was so happy when I got back. She was chirping and drooling everywhere and though she wasn't typically a long-term snuggler but she wouldn't leave my lap for a week
