Bettas don't eat plants, they eats bugs and meat like blood worms and tiny shrimp.

Just make sure his temps aren't going to drop randomly or get too hot, make sure he's got clean water in his tank, and you should be good.

Hey OP, if you are feeding him dry pellets or dry food, might want to soak them for a few minutes in his aquarium water when you get back, so he doesn't eat a shit ton and have them swell up in his stomach. It's usually a good idea to do that in general anyway to prevent bloat.
