What's some good ways to mix up dog meals without harming digestion? The food I like to buy has three flavors, so I was thinking of buying all three bags for each meal: lamb breakfast, fish lunch, chicken dinner. Is that switching it up to often? Is cheddar cheese OK to mix in if it's small quantities?

Mix it with wet food. I always mix my dogs dry food with a good amount of wet food, mostly because my older dog has no teeth (brachy breed, go figure) and is very picky. I also add dog-friendly tablescraps like shitty cuts of meat on occasion, but if your dog has a sensitive tummy I wouldn't recommend that.
>>
Also... why cheese? I mean, sure it's fine in small quantities, but why's cheese your first option? I don't think it's harmful even in bigger qualities -- recently had an elderly couple bring in a senior pug who was fed exclusively cheese and sausage every day for its entire life because "he just doesn't really like dog food, you know?" It was obese as hell, obviously, but as alive as an 8 y/o pug can be.

You could try adding canned fish as a topper. Not anchovies, because they're high in salt, or tuna or salmon, because of toxic metals, but something like canned herring?

Also, as long as your dog has something of an iron gut, then switching food for each meal shouldn't be an issue. Even then an iron gut isn't required, as long as they're used to a large degree of daily dietary variation. My dogs are rarely fed the same food two meals in a row. They don't even necessarily eat the same brand of food two meals in a row. But then, I rotate between about 15 different foods from different brands and always have a minimum of three on hand.

I make homemade pizzas for myself so always have low-fat mozz shreds on hand. It just mixes in well. Will try the wet food, any good brands?

Scramble some eggs, add some rice once in awhile. Leftovers can be used as well, depending on what it is. Frozen treats like carrots at the bottom of the dish. I give my pupper a bit of oatmeal in fall/winter.

So on deaths door anyways?
>>

Yep, exactly. It could barely breathe -- shocking and unexpected diagnosis, I know.

Not that I can list off the top of my head, but generally speaking wet food is much better than dry anyway so I wouldn't stress too much about it. A basic check of its ingredients should be enough, and maybe a look at its dogfoodadvisor rating. Honestly, after hearing all the weird shit people feed their dogs I'm convinced the fuckers can handle just about anything.

Not like they don't eat everything when they find it anyways. Grandmas spaniel used to eat loaves of bread, plastic and all.
>>
>>2321467
I avoided it cause I thought it was worse for them.
>>
can I feed my newborn son's foreskin to the dog?
>>
I rotate flavors every other bag. Neither dog seems to mind.

Maybe try healthy toppers... yogurt, broth (low sodium, limited ingridents), or veggies. One of my dogs goes apeshit for carrots.
>>

Yea, he's just so picky. He's ambivalent to carrots, hates yogurt. First dog I ever met that won't touch peanut butter. Half the treats I buy he won't even touch, just takes them and hides them under blankets.
>>
>>2321681
I don't see a reason why not.

Careful with broth, good way to paint your carpet a few shades of brown.
