Hi, this is Max.
He's an adorable little beast. Very playful, acts bigger than he is. We love having him around.
He has this bump/bubble/sore on his lower left gum and it's got me worried. We've only had him a few months and planned on getting him neutered later this month. So we WILL be taking him to the vet and getting it sorted, but I'm wondering if any of you have seen this kind of sore before or might know what it is.
He doesn't show pain when eating, though he bites a LOT when playing.

Looks like a run of the mill infection that's going sour. Get that checked out.
Do not wait a month. Call a vet and get in as soon as you can.

I didn't say I was taking him in a month. I said I'm taking him later this month. Next week at the most. Please learn to read before inflating your ego.

Well im no expert. But shouldnt you just treat it like you would yourself? Wouldnt you rub some savlon on it? Or will it turn your cat blue or something?
probably just a canker sore or something, will probably be fine
as long as I'm here I should ask; my cat came home 5 days ago with this massive cut on her stomach, I've left it alone but should I be seeing a vet? she seems fine.

Get some tritop or something and just keep an eye on it. Take to the vet ASAP at the first sign of possible infection

He may be getting an abscess. It is fairly common in cats. Get him to a vet.
Our cat had one and they had to remove a lot of his teeth to treat it. He still does well with the few he has left.
