What do you think of servals? I had no idea this animal even existed until yesterday but apparently people keep them as pets.
Here's a video I found. I think this one is really cute:

A serval mix boarded at my work once. Seemed like a good cat. Friendly enough. Though didnt like being in her condo, understandably.

Very cute cat. Owning one seems like a bad idea though.

Posted this forgetting the name of the mix and being too lazy to look it up at the time but this was the mix:

Decent cats from what I understand as long as you keep them active

Serval is best cat. Tail could be longer. Other than that is ideal... aside from the work one must allegedly put in to properly care for one.

> A Bengal breeder, Judee Frank, crossbred a male serval, belonging to Suzi Woods, with a Siamese (domestic cat) to produce the first Savannah cat (named Savannah) on April 7, 1986.
Aren't servals at least twice the size of normal cats?

Servals are very hard to maintain, but I do like the coat and dog-like temperament.
I wish someone would breed them into house cats. I don't really care about F1 or F100, I just want the coat and temperament. And maybe the bug ears.

I bet it would be easier owning a cat. It wouldn't be for me.

Don't make posts like this on /an/.

They piss everywhere more than cats do because these fuckers apparently like to mark everything. So there's that.

Overrated.Caracal is superior in every way.

Seconding. /an/ is one of the least obnoxious boards, let's try to keep it that way.
We have a Serval at our college zoo called George he's a wild one so he's not very friendly but when you walk past his enclosure he will normally come up to the the fence and watch you.
caracal > serval

More intimidating ears don't exi-
They're fiercely independent and don't really like cuddling or even being pet.
It's a bit criminal to domesticate them IMO, these things really need the wild; they're also incredible hunters.

mutilated ears dont count
