Hey /an/, I was out for a bike ride today and spotted these 2 owls hiding behind a piece of sewer pipe. I tried to get closer to get a better picture but they kept flying away, so this is the best I got. Was odd seeing them out in the middle of the day, but it was pretty windy today so I thought maybe it forced them out of their nest?
Anyway I was wondering if you could help me identify them. In southern AZ.

Theyre burrowing owls. Burrowing owls are often active during the day. It's completely normal.
