So I have been having a stray cat come around and hang with me for the past 7 days, every night it comes and rolls around and sits on my lap outside, so yesterday I decide "fuck it" and buy all the supplies I need to take in the stray who I have started to really like. Well of course yesterday is the first time in 7 days she never shows up. Is this just bad luck, and do you think the cat will ever show again? I feel like I was a day late and now the opportunity is gone, any advice?

Probably, unless it's dead. Also how do you even know it's a stray and not an (((outdoor cat)))?
It's the weekend and that's somebody's cat

I don't think it's someone's cat because it's fur is all matted and it has fleas, plus I have seen it in the woods were all the strays are

It'll be back. Even if it's not a stray the owners aren't likely to miss it if they let its fur get matted. Just be sure to feed it when you see it again and you'll be stuck with it.

Did you buy a cat carrier? Once/if it comes back it's a good idea to take him to the vet

Yeah I had one because I have been catching strays and getting them spayed/neutered
Alright, well she came inside tonight, but seems kind of weirded out and just keeps looking out the window. I'm gonna take her tomorrow to get spayed and check for a micro chip, is it shifty to take strays in? I feel like she really wants to leave and I don't want to keep her trapped in my place

If she lived her whole life outdoors then its a little obvious that she is longing for that. You can give it plenty attention so it can grow confidence. I've never taken in a grown cat but I think this one might not treat your house as its new lair yet. Ask this kind of stuff to the vet... I think it will require extra attention to make it attached to you.

>is it shifty
M8 u can bring a bowl of chicken soup to the vet and they'll take a look if you're willing to pay
