Reminds me of growing up and in the abandoned wing of the manor I heard a crying when I went exploring. I heard it really loudly (though muffled) at first and kept trying to pinpoint it but it got more and more quiet over the next week and disappeared altogether. Years later they find a skeleton dressed as a jester in the space between the walls.
