My fish has been chilling in this corner almost 24/7 for a week now, and he hasn't eaten any food for a few days. Sometimes he doesn't eat but this corner thing is bothering me. Is this normal behavior? Is there something he's lacking?
Mine too, but he's eating. I have no idea why, this has been going on for months now.
Its because you're keeping it in a shitty bowl.
Stores tell you bowls are fine, but they really aren't.
He looks like shit and is probably slowly suffocating and/or being posioned.
Dropsy. Your fish is likely doomed.
See how the scales are sticking up off of its body? That is called pineconing, and it hints at internal organs swelling up. Fish rarely recover, and bettas are known for the issue.
What are you keeping it in?
Also having issues with my fish, he got this dark spot about 2 months ago that was visibly bulging out. Over these two months the spot has been getting bigger and now it looks like this, it's eaten through the other side of his fin. I have no idea what this is or how to treat it, his behavior hasn't changed at all. He's still extremely active, alert, making bubble nests, and eats voraciously as always. Some people told me it was a cancerous tumor and there wasn't anything I could do. Anyone know what this is? Seen it before? Any suggestions for medicine I should try?
He's in a 3.5 gallon tank, 10% water changes a week with a full tank change every month (while saving 25% of original water), I removed the mechanical filter about 6 months ago after having three break on me and my fish constantly flaring at the water current. I've had him for about a year from a reputable local pet store (don't think he's much older than that) and I've never had any problems with him until now.

I thought it was cotton wool at first, but the white spot didn't show up until recently overtop the darkest spot of the bump, and it has a metallic shine to it like his find, not fuzzy/soft looking. I was away for a few weeks and had my friend take care of him. They overfed him and did two small water changes, the overfeeding made the tank pretty filthy but nothing insane. There aren't any other living things in the tank, I had snails but my fish murdered them pretty quickly. I checked all his decorations before I bought them looking for sharp edges, so I'm not sure if this is some infected injury if he somehow scratched himself on his castle.
It's fucking dead bro

Most of those don't come with a heater, though and that's just as important.
