I like the fighting games they are hearty breeds but can be worse that Pit bull aggressive. Even the hens. I don't recommend them for starter flocks.

Yeah the roosters can be pretty aggressive, which is why I want to get rid of mine. First flock as well. The hens aren't real mean, well they can be kind of mean to each other sometimes.

Admittedly I'm not very experienced but I would say that unless stronger predators can climb up to the top of your run and tear through, you should be okay. I don't see a hawk or an owl being able to tear through that but if a racoon or possum got up there then yeah, it might be a problem. In other words if your run is in a safe area where predators can't get to it great, otherwise you may want something a little stronger. How big is your run?
