Nah dickhead, that's clearly a ferret

Looks like an abscess. Is the anything stuck under her lip? My dog got one like that when a grass seed got stuck in her cheek.
Clean the area with salt water and it should heal on its own. If your dog seems to be in pain or the lump gets bigger you'll have to go to a vet.

There's a rule among vets and vet techs. If someone says something began at X time, at least double or triple it. I can't tell you how many times someone brought a dog with a tumor covering half it's body, 'oh it only started a week or so ago' when it's obviously been a year or more. Sometimes it's because people don't notice it right away and give you the time that they noticed it. Other cases they lie to protect their image; Maybe they noticed the issue a few weeks ago but didn't want to spend money or didn't think it was an issue etc.
With OPs case I'd imagine we'd at least have to triple it, but it probably started very small and unnoticeable.

Boy, I wonder if the local vet and techs hate me because I am the promptest person ever.
One time I was at the dog park and my dogs ran into each other and one of them broke two teeth and the other ended up with a gash on his gum. I was dialling the vet even as we walked out of the park (we did not stay to keep playing after I discovered both dogs were bleeding) and then we were at the office for an emergency appointment half an hour later. It was a good thing we had the emergency appointment, though, because we got referred to a veterinary dental specialist and the dog got to keep his canine tooth. If we'd been slow, the tooth would probably have been extracted.

I would very much prefer sooner rather than later, even if there was nothing wrong at all and my time was wasted. When you wait, the problem not only gets worse over time, it gets more expensive to treat. Wait too long and you get fewer options, sometimes no options. Then the owners blame the vet because they waited and now it costs them more than if they just got the animal here ASAP. Or worse, they bring the animal once it's too late and it can barely walk or breath and expect a miracle out of us.
might be a bee sting, my doggo had one at the same spot and it looked like that.
