A few years ago, I watched a long, mostly (if at all) unedited HD video of a tsunami, over a long period (perhaps 20 minutes?) in Asia
I'm guessing is was the 2011 Iwata Prefecture in Japan, but none of the videos I can find are the correct one.
It was filmed mostly silent by an amateur viewer from a high vantage point, not ground level. It doesn't cut and shows the water receding and slowing but forcefully coming in, eventually wreaking insane havoc. It was very scary and solemn and I'd like to share it with some one if anyone can help me find it. Thanks

Thank you, I have not seen this one but it isn't the one I'm looking for, the one I saw was not from a beach and showed many buildings and boats being washed away, and oil fires starting on top of the water
Thank you though!

i might know the one you mean? does it start out at sea level and they go somewhere higher?
>>2296980
possibly - i remember they had an incredible vantage point, sweeping views of the port city

i think i know the one but i can't find it, unfortunately
i'll keep looking

Thank you, i didn't realize that the release of these videos was controversial and actually fought by Japan, making some hard to find.

I was once watching a few of those videos, but your description makes me uncertain which one it could be. I'm thinking possibly this one?

For me, that's one of the most terrifying tsunami videos. The beginning looks so mundane and harmless, but the situation escalates in mere minutes.
