'sup /an/.
I just brushed my dog (year and a half golden retriever) and barely got any hair. I haven't brushed her in a month (she got a shower two weeks ago or so too), and before that I used to brush her every week or so (sometimes twice when she was shedding a lot) and find a lot of hair.
Why less hair just now? Is this normal? I always used a brush with little pins, then an undercoat rake and a softer brush to finish.
Her fur doesn't look any different from usual.
She's fine. There's no problem with her not shedding. There's only an issue with over shedding to the point of balding.
is it cold where you are? if it is, she's probably just holding on to her undercoat.
I have a golden who barely sheds, too. I'm always surprised when people talk about the endless hair their dogs produce and I barely have anything to show for it when I brush him out. Maybe it's just genetic. My pup also has a high quality diet so that helps as well, I'm sure
Dogs lose their puppy coat around a year. So maybe that's why she shed so much before.
