Anybody mind if they can tell me if this African grey is a male or a female?

Have you tried asking what it identifies as?

I know fuck all about birds but given the bright red on the tail then I'd have to guess male.
There's no way to tell visually. Have to DNA sex.
Give us a clear shot of the tail feathers
can't those things just fucking tell you

You need blood/dna testing for the majority of parrots.

Does it have a cock?

Grey's usually have to be blood tested, there's really no reliable visual way to tell. Had my boy tested when he was young.

I grew up with an African Grey that belongs to my grandparents. He's always been around, and I really like him. Last summer however, she laid and egg, just like that, but her egg was just weird to her. So I think I'm pretty qualified to say that that's either a male or a female
>seriously though, my grandmother has a full library with books about birds/insects etc, and if she had no clue for 25 years there is no way you can tell without a DNA test or some shit

The tail is red because it is a Congo African Male. Both female and male have the red tail. The only other African Grey that has a different colored tail is a Timneh. The Timneh has a maroon or a purplish tail and is smaller. The Timneh African Grey is also a much darker gray than the Congo African Grey.

The sexual organs are internal on Congo African Grays. Only canaries have external testis.
I think it's sex is Apache Attack Helicopter.

So,.... How do you know it's male? I'm confused.

Why's it in such a shitty cage?
