How do spiders/snakes eat animals injected with their own venom without dying to the venom?
>>2278932
they obviously have a resistance to their own venom. they are the ones producing it
>>2278932
Because venom, by definition, has to be injected into the bloodstream. That's why someone could drink a shot of snake venom that would kill them if they mainlined it.
Poison and venom are two distinct things. Hope I helped!

I think it's because people have genuine questions on here about animals and there's less shitposting- because there's not much of an audience for it. Also there are a bunch of biologists posting here, who always enjoy teaching people cool shit.

What is that pink thing? It looks like a tongue.

>Implying being a biologist and a shitposter are exclusive

Won't it enter the bloodstream anyway though? Isn't that how the nutrients from the food get into your cells?
>>2279012
you've got me there
>>2279014
Most things don't just go from your mouth into your bloodstream. Most of it gets digested and broken down. Some venoms can get broken down by digestive enzymes making them virtually harmless

Probably eggs before eggsac was spun.
>>2279014
same reason you can blow so many men and not get STD's
>>2278932
Because they are completely resistant to it, in the same way we are with our stomach acid
>>2278932
On another note, what the hell is the spider in the OP eating there? Looks like a tongue or something.
>>2278932
I dont know how it works for spiders, but I will use humans for example. There are some poisons that would kill us if injected, because it avoids liver conversion. If we ate them they would go directly through the liver, being converted to something else and instead giving you a tummy ache(or something)
>>2279002
well that's just because you can't answer OP's question with brown recluse
>>2279546
So do they get venom reflux?

It's a female, that's its egg ball which it'll carry until they hatch.
