How bad of an idea is it to keep a LSG in an apartment in NYC?

How big of an apartment? I keep two cats, a 20 pound dog, and 50 pound dog in a 750sqft condo and things never feel cramped. Obviously if you live in a 450 sqft efficiency, its a bad idea. But a modestly sized 2 bedroom would be fine.

So long as you are willing to give it good exercise with two walks a day things will be fine. LGDs tend to be couch potatoes once they get a hit older.

It's worth a shot. A lot of "muh instincts" can be beaten out of a dog like that while they're a puppy if you have a heavy hand.

Most LSGD will prefer to be outside rather than inside.
