Are kangaroos the most "unique" mammal? Just in terms of what animals they're related to, ie none of them grow into 6ft humanoid freaks

That nigga swoll! Give you a 2 piece combo and you'll be out for days.

Australia is full of unique animals, due to the geographically secluded location. It's the only place on the planet non.placenta mammals dominated the fully child bearing ones.

And these fuckers are quite small compared to all the monstrous roos the abos wiped out.

But no, they're not the 'most unique' (not that that's even measurable), there are dozens of tree kangaroos, wallabies and other small hopping shits that they're related to.

>>2245331
This is an animal in the same country as the Platypus. Think about that.

Something like an aardvark is more 'unique'. It has no other species in its genus.

As far as other animals that are basically real life furries? I guess the kangaroo is the winner

First saw the lowland streaked tenrec in the documentary this clip comes from, just blew my mind. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W9kJKu4cpXM

Pretty unique
>>
>>2245331
Taxonomically speaking, the aardvark is much more unique than the kangaroo.
If you're talking about physical features, it's pretty subjective, but I think most people would agree that platypus has it beat.

>genus
Try Order.

>The Diprotodontia (/ˌdaJˌproʊtoʊˈdɒnʃiə/; Greek: διπρωτός diprotos, meaning "two front" and οδοντος odontos meaning "teeth") are a large order of about 125[2] marsupial mammals including the kangaroos, wallabies, possums, koala, wombats, and many others.

Anon was replying to a comment about aardvarks, I think you misinterpreted it

Isn't a bat the only flying mammal? That's pretty unique
>>
If we're going to be honest, the most unique mammal is probably long extinct.
>>
Check out EdgeOfExistence. It is a conservation group focused on the most unique animals.
>>
>>2247237
And the Platypus is the only egg laying mammal.
>>
>>2247877
Echidna
>>
>>2247237
Except that's an entire order of animals and there are over 1,000 different types of bats.
It sounds like you guys are looking for uncommon characteristics, not "unique animals."
>>
>>2247910
To be fair, that doesn't help further identify what 'unique' means either. Aardvarks are basically just slightly piggy anteaters (in terms of function and ecology), so not unique in that context. Bats have fuckin' WINGS, and cetaceans are fuckin' flab torpedoes with missile-sized dicks... but on a speciation level they're comfortably plentiful.

What am I lookibg at here?

monotremes are
>>

'Unique' needs no qualifier.
