A bit lacking in the pants department mate? You can get much bigger dog than rotties, they're a good mix of size and athleticism.

They're nowhere near as aggressive as pits and as long as you're responsible with them they are fine.

Similar large dogs useful for guarding, and a much more loyal and calm temperament.

That said, i personally prefer medium sized dogs. Even my favourite larger dogs (Irish Wolfhound - which as dogs go are truly giants and absolutely precious in personality) get an average lifespan of like eight years and tend to suffer the skeletal/joint issues common to big dogs.

Personally love Border Collies. Intelligent as unholy hell and i've never met one with a bad personality. Though i have met some who had to have the desire to herd things or people trained out of them.

Which reminds me, if the rottweiler colouration is what you like, German Pinschers are a great larger-medium dog who live a decent amount of time, suffer few if any health problems and are smart as fuck.
