My cat keeps jumping onto my second floor banister. So far, nothing has happened, but I'm always afraid he's going to fall and hurt himself (it's a pretty good drop to the first floor), especially since he'll usually run really fast and jump up onto it.
Is there any way to stop him from doing it? Or am I just being paranoid?

throw him off from half way point up the stairs. that way he knows falling will hurt and won't try doing risky shit
That looks like a safe fall for an adult cat.
I suppose you can prevent a hard fall by placing one of those fur/very fluffy rugs underneath the general area.
Another option would be using decorations to cover the banister/access.

What's the floor covering there and what breed is your cat (weight/fur length)?

It's just a cat
If it dies, throw it in the trash and get another
It'll be exactly the same

>says the guy who sits on the couch while his dog licks its ass, then has zero issues when that nasty dog licks his face.
Go ahead and tell everyone how your dog urine soaked yard with piles of shit in randoms spots is safer than a cat box.

Of he falls and corrects himself he will be totally fine. Cats have jumped from higher and survived fine. It's just him not landing right is an issue. If you're really concerned perhaps add decorations or move a couch under it. It's a high place and cats love sitting on high places. If he falls I'm sure he will be fine unless he's too retarded to twist around and brace for impact.
I guess you could always kill your cat before it kills itself. Just to say you did, you know.
wax the rail
or
glue sand paper 35 grit to it
or
alilumin alumiminum shit Reynolds wrap it
or the rail
When did /an/ become so edgy? Shitposting used to be only about outdoor cats. Now every thread on this board has at least one "hurr durr killing cats is funny lol" post.
