Are there any zookeepers on /an/?

How'd you get your job? What did you major in in college? How many internships and volunteer gigs did you do? What's your highest level of education?

Do you like your job?

>Are there any zookeepers on /an/?
no
>How'd you get your job?
filled out an application, did an interview with Tanya, the shift manager
>What did you major in in college?
college?
>How many internships and volunteer gigs did you do?
I did community service one time. Does that count?
>What's your highest level of education?
GED
>Do you like your job?
I like the free pizza every shift, but Tanya's a bitch and her 'fiance' keeps threatening to kick my ass.

Not a zookeeper but this thread has been posted enough. Most people start by volunteering at their local zoo or something like that and are eventually offered a job. Some go for biology or animal science but some don't do college. If you want to train dolphins a psychology degree is surprisingly more accepted than marine biology

Did a few months of volunteering at one because i love animals, especially wild/exotic ones
the job totally loses its charm after some time, because most of what you do is cleaning poop and cleaning other things. Also, wild animals don't really seem like wild animals once they're on display in a cage/enclosure, you don't have that amazement like seeing them in the wild. you also start feeling like there's no point to the whole thing after a while and start feeling guilty, at least i did.

I'm going to college for biology, and was thinking of working at a zoo, but from the looks of it zoo employees make slave wages. It's a damn shame.
