Does anyone have experience with backyard goats or sheep? I have roughly a half acre which was enough to raise a good number of chickens. I no longer raise chickens, but I was interested in goats and sheep. I've been reading through Minnesota and NC State's agriculture extension websites that suggest that you can sustain 2-4 goats per acre, so it's at least possible to have a single goat or sheep in my backyard. I was wondering if anyone here could share some resources or experience on the subject.

For goats you have to be careful, they can jump really high, they eat mostly bushes not grass like sheeps, also they like to climb, great pets the only thing you have to be cautious

They eat everything.
I had a goat eat my name tag off my shirt at a zoo as a child while on a field trip. Fucking things creep me out.

Unless your half an acre is surrounded by cornfields you are too close to people who don't want goats. Also one goat will be lonely and very loud.

Probably. Have you checked up on poisonous plants and started clearing your yard of them?
