Just wash the damn cat. Fuck what it wants. Flea collar that kills eggs. Some sort of medicine. It's not that complicated, you just have to do it. Consider a cone if it won't stop scratching itself once the fleas fucker off.

Go out for a couple hours with the cat and flea bomb the house.

The brand Adams makes a flea shampoo. It is very good. Give the cat a bath in that.

Next, go buy some Advantage. The Advantage will turn the cat into a living flea trap. It will kill any fleas that snack on your cat. You'll need to keep the cat on the Advantage for several months, at least 6.

Next, do you have carpet? Invest in diatomaceous earth. Make sure it's food grade. Spread it all over your carpet and leave it overnight. Will get rid of your fleas. Vacuum very throughly next morning. Also, vacuum at least weekly for a while too.

Lastly, wash everything in hot water.

Fleas are fucking cancer, but pretty easy to deal with.

these lighted sticky trap things are a complete waste of time, you have to stop the fleas's life cycle completely to get rid of them, which involves using medicine on the cat and regular vacuuming, also get rid of the vacuum bags immediately

the fleas i encountered were resistant to Advantage though, i had to use a different product called Cheristin which worked extremely fast but also is like twice as expensive, so if Advantage works well it'll save you a lot of money. Capstar is also good if you want to kickstart the process, it's a 24 hour pill that will zap any fleas currently on the pet within hours, but when the fleas are dying they start biting really hard, so the animal will go berserk for a few hours. it can be used at the same time as a topical medication though. i only used it once and you can just save the rest in case of another emergency
