How can you not like them? They come in all different sizes, ranging from the size of a finger to the length of a human body. Some species make great pets, with bearded dragons outnumbering cats and dogs in some countries. There's a species for everyone, from beginners to experienced keepers. They're great for kids, because most species don't require specialised care or exercise like s dog or cat does. Their enclosures can be a great aesthetic addition to any bedroom or living room, and most can be "tamed" to tolerate being with humans, and some even enjoy being out of their tanks and with humans.
How can you not love them?

They're neat. And just a little bit alien. And comically goofy sometimes. Cute, too, even the very large ones.

I relate on a spiritual level with my bearded dragon.
It's like a fish-deluxe, a cool animal in a glass cage that sits around all day toasting and being lazy (Perhaps moving less than a fish). She's dumb and simple, making it very clear when she has forgotten what a bath was like again, but forgets her fear as soon as she realises the water is warm and pleasant. Her shit smells like hell, but that's only needed to be dealt with ONCE A WEEK. It's such a low maintenance roommate that constantly stares and judges me when she's not busy closing her eyes in simple enjoyment of life.

I'm allergic to fur, and have seriously bad dry skin with eczema to boot. The scaly skin of my lizard is just like mine on its worst. A slobbering dog, a selfish cat, a frightened bird, all of these are silky soft and make me jealous. But lizards are on my level, they're my type of animal. I know some of them can be silky smooth too, like my life goal Blue Tongue Skinks, but they always shed their skin just like me.

It's nice having a pet that's with no doubt really dumb and simplistic. They're a sight for sore eyes and make my home environment more interesting. I have a lot of thoughts, but fuck man, lizards are just weird, cute and pleasant.
